Multiplication Math Game Ideas

In a multiplication math game, you can use dominoes that measure students’ skills on one- or two-digit multiplication. Put the dominoes in the middle of students the same way as a typical domino game. This game can be played by students either in pairs or one by one.

The first pair or student to reach one thousand for two-digit multiplication or one hundred for one-digit multiplication will be declared as the winner. Every player takes a turn removing dominoes out of the pile. One domino is drawn by students for one-digit multiplication, and two dominoes for two-digit multiplication. The numbers are multiplied by students and the product is written down on a paper in order to keep score. Every additional product is added to the previous total. The first pair or person to reach the predetermined score is the winner.

A cool multiplication game can also be in the form of problem solving game, in which you will provide students with newspaper ads and ask them to cut out certain advertisements that contain a clear list of values for an item. Glue is used by students to attach these cutouts to a large index card.

They use the information from the ad to make story problems which can only be solved through multiplication. Collect all these cards from the students, break them into groups and ask to play a classroom game. The teams will compete against each other in giving the correct answer to each question.
